Last weekend I went to Detroit and it was amazing. I had a very strong pull to go to what used to be, at one point, the wealthiest city in the world and the face of American invention and culture (think the Model T Ford and Motown music).
I decided to shoot my 4th of July outfit photos there because it felt like a true American city – even though it’s going through hard times, it’s buzzing with enthusiasm about its future, the people of Detroit are holding each other’s hands to rebuild itself and I thought that was such a powerful a reflection of America’s strength and what makes this country fabulous!
I really enjoyed shooting this blog post because I have so much fun wearing the colors that make up the USA flag and I love stripes (Milk Stripes), so I love a day that I can indulge!!!
Hope you enjoy my photos and Happy 4th of July!
Enjoying a delicious hotdog at Detroit’s American Coney Island!
An abandoned building downtown – one of the few not yet being renovated.
The beautiful Fox Theatre.
Graffiti in the Downtown area.
What Am I Wearing?
